10th annual Fressingfield Music Festival, 23 – 27 September 2014

This is a very exciting time for us as we celebrate Fressingfield Music Festival’s tenth year with five top-quality concerts in the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul. This year’s vibrant programme includes some names familiar to our Festival regulars, as well as some new to Fressingfield.

We are thrilled to welcome back the world-renowned classical violinist Tasmin Little, who will open the Festival accompanied by acclaimed pianist John Lenehan. The ever popular concert pianist Meng Yang Pan will return to the stage on Wednesday night along with kindly devoting some of her rehearsal time to engage with local schoolchildren at the Festival’s Education Day.

We are privileged to introduce the Choir of Norwich Cathedral, under Director of Music Ashley Grote, to Thursday’s choral evening. For our Friday night jazz slot, we return to classic jazz with acclaimed jazz pianist Brian Dee who, along with a group of friends, will help us celebrate the 10th anniversary in true style. Lastly, I will be directing Badinage in the closing concert with a performance of Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and Bach’s F major harpsichord concerto which I hope you will enjoy.

Described as “one of the best events worldwide”, the Festival will yet again bring to Fressingfield village world-class standards of performance while maintaining tremendous value.  It also continues to raise funds for the restoration of the historically important organ of St Peter and St Paul Fressingfield. I look forward to welcoming you as we celebrate this milestone accomplishment together.

With best wishes,

Paul Carroll - Artistic Director
