11th annual Fressingfield Music Festival

29 September - 3 October 2015

We are delighted to have The Feinstein Ensemble, one of the world's foremost groups specialising in the music of the baroque era, opening the 11th Fressingfield Music Festival on Tuesday 19th September.  Under the direction of its soloist and leader, Martin Feinstein, the seven-strong ensemble will be performing music by Vivaldi, Bach and Telemann.

On Wednesday 30th September, Badinage will give a performance comparing and contrasting the entire Mozart flute quartets with Devienne's brilliant bassoon quartets.  I am looking forward to playing these works which offer so much to the listener.

By popular demand, the Choir of Norwich Cathedral returns for the choral evening on Thursday 1st October, led by its Director, Ashley Grote.

Another newcomer to the Festival this year, although far from new to the jazz scene, is the Gareth Williams Trio.  This trio has become highly renowned for intensely creative and electrifying performances, and should give our jazz devotees a treat.

The final concert in this year's Festival will be given by the Commonwealth Orchestra, which will perofrm works it recorded at Abbey Road earlier in the year. This includes music by Vivaldi, Handel, Elgar and Carroll and features the outstanding Maltese soprano, Nicola Said.

We're very proud to be able to offer this variety of high quality music in our continuing mission to live up to the Festival's description as “one of the best events worldwide”.  At the same time, we will be helping to raise money towards the substantial fund required to restore the Church of St Peter and St Paul's historically important "Father Willis" organ.

I look forward to welcoming you to help us celebrate our 11th Festival together.

With best wishes,

Paul Carroll - Artistic Director
